MonsterVolley

MonsterVolley

Love sports games? I do! But typically they just don't have the same arcade feeling as console games do (like NHL2K11...) and the controls are just...flimsy? I was about to throw  MonsterVolley away within couple minutes, but because of its simplicity and cute cuddly characters it kept me going.

Without tiring out my own fingers, the screen below explains the controls of the game -- yes it's THAT simple.

Simple Controls

So simple it almost look retarded, but it works! There's no chance for you to hit the wrong button or need to move around fingers around at all it just comes natural and doesn't hinder your view from the game.

Before you start the game you can chose from 1 of 4 available monsters in the settings and when the game starts you get to choose your difficulty (don't even try easy unless you're really handicapped), and then your "home court". Technically it's not volleyball, but more like nonstop head-butting exchange until 1 side screws up and the 1st to 10 wins (I wish they'd have implemented deuce scoring). Timing is everything in this game as that's the only way you can actually smash the ball in your opponent's face.

Space Planet Volcanic MountainsSandy Beach? Grass Field!

There isn't much else to talk about the game aside from the beautiful sceneries as you go through each of the 10 levels and from level 7 and on, the challenge spikes. Since this is a reviews website and not a walkthrough, I'll save my tips and also the surprises that come in the end. The screen below is a taste of what's coming in your face -- took me at least 10 tries to beat this badass. Give it a try and let us know if you could shut him out.

This guy definitely had some 'shrooms

AppApps Rating
